A Unique opportunity to own a classic Sea Bright Skiff in excellent condition

NMHA was approached to adopt this Zobel Sea Skiff. It is a great Sea Bright built boat, but unfortunately does not fit NMHA's operational mission. The boat is for sale and may be a unique alternative to the purchase of an equivalent fiberglass boat and certainly would be more interesting and fun.

Description

  • 1956 Zobel Sea Fox
  • 22 feet long 8.5 feet wide
  • Built originally in Sea Bright or Red Bank.
  • Extensive renovation has been completed between 2005 to present by Gannon and Benjamin, Martha's Vineyard and Two River Boat Works, Fair Haven,NJ.
  • Over $50,000 has been invested in this boat.

NMHA President Rik van Hemmen provides a discussion of this opportunity on his company website HERE

If you, or someone you know, are interested in purchasing this boat, please contact Rik van Hemmen at RHemmen@martinottaway.com. The price is very negotiable for a purchaser who can show they are committed to running and maintaining her.

Some Background

Zobel's Sea Skiff and Yacht Works was incorporated in Sea Bright in the 1940's and appears to have been a well respected boatbuilder. They joined other wooden boatbuilders along the North Jersey Shore, including Olsens and Hans Pedersen, and others.
